Harry Sidhu was elected mayor of Anaheim in November 2018, representing the City at large.

Sidhu previously served on Anaheim’s City Council from 2004 to 2012, including as mayor pro tem from 2009 to 2011 and in 2012. Before first serving on the City Council, Sidhu was chairman of Anaheim’s Budget Advisory Commission and served on the City’s Audit Committee. He also previously served on the board of directors for the Orange County Water District and as an alternate to the Santa Ana Watershed Authority board of directors.

As mayor, Sidhu seeks to encourage a thriving business community and economic development that creates jobs and housing and that meets the needs of residents and businesses. During his first tenure on Anaheim’s City Council, Sidhu started the City’s annual free Anaheim Health Fair as well as the yearly Anaheim/OC Job Fair and Expo.

Sidhu is honored to be Anaheim’s first mayor of Indian heritage. Born and raised in India, Sidhu came to the United States in 1974 with his family, settling in Philadelphia. He became a U.S. citizen in 1979. Sidhu holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Philadelphia’s Drexel University. He came to Southern California in 1980 to work as an engineer for aerospace companies Rockwell International, General Dynamics and Hughes Aircraft.
